Welcome to your online reader for American Cinema History. You’ll have noticed this is a little non-traditional: no chapters or pages, just small “boxes” of information with illustrations, images and sometimes, videos. There is also frequently additional information provided through the “Find Out More” button.

So how to use the site? Here’s some pointers:

Read each assigned box carefully. If a video is provided, watch the video. If a Find Out More button exists, click through and skim the linked material. Take notes.

Reading carefully is key. Sometimes the linked resource will be optional or just for further clarification. If that’s the case, the text will guide you. The majority of test questions will come from the material on this site, not a linked resource. For your journals, you may use citations from this website or any of the linked material.

As always, should you have questions, talk to your professor!
